How to hide tags in WordPress posts

Here is a CSS cheat sheet you can use as a reference to remove/hide WordPress tags, category and other elements as you need.

If you need help where to add these codes, here is the detailed step by step guide on how to hide tags in WordPress post.

Tags are often used to categorize your WordPress post. Based on some people tags also help in SEO. Some has doubt on that which I talk about at the end of this post. First I want to show you how to hide tags in WordPress posts. And yes that’s without installing any WordPress plugins.

You can easily hide tags from WordPress blog posts. I have listed 2 easy methods below you can use to hide those tags. One is using your theme’s settings and another one is using CSS code. There is another method which is using WordPress plugins. I will not talk about that since our intention is hiding tags without any plugins.

Note: If for some reason this code doesn’t work, make sure you have the correct html class tags. You can find out how to look for html class tags in the article above for your theme before you apply this CSS.

Hide published date of WordPress post:

.entry-meta .posted-on {

     display: none;

}

Hide update date of post:

.entry-footer .update {

     display: none;

}

Hide author below the title of the post:

.entry-meta .posted-by {

     display: none;

}

Remove comment link below the title (Some theme uses comment link below title along with author and date):

.entry-meta .comments-link {

     display: none;

}

Remove tags:

.tags-links {

     display: none;

}

Remove categories:

.cat-links {

     display: none;

}
